I believe in institutions<\/h1>\n

I hold a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have taught at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

My research has been published in leading global journals, including Econometrica and the Review of Economic Studies.<\/p>\n

I served as the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Currently, I head the Kyiv School of Economics.<\/p>\n

My focus is on real change and measurable results.<\/b><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n

Impact over comfort<\/h2>\n

My career in the US was secure and prestigious, but academic success loses its meaning when your country is on fire. In 2014, following the shootings on the Maidan, I realized I could not remain on the sidelines. I returned to build institutions that would ensure the deaths of heroes were not in vain.<\/b><\/p>\n <\/section>\n

The challenge of the public sector<\/h2>\n

\n In 2019, I entered politics. Bureaucracy is a complex system that often resists change.\n We opened the land market\u2014a dream deferred for 30 years. We achieved it in a single year.\n <\/p>\n

Was it painful? Yes. Did I make mistakes? Constantly. But I learned the most important lesson:<\/p>\n <\/section>\n
